For the last 25 years, we’ve been travelling regularly to Sardegna, spending wonderful holidays at the beautiful beaches of Costa Smeralda and the islands wild romantic back country.

We got to see a number of different hotels and houses at that time, however none of them ever fully fulfilled our taste. So, in 2015, we decided to start the search for the perfect piece of land.

We were looking for a place that not only had an impressive panoramic site, but also got a lot of sun throughout the entire day. We wanted it to be close to one of our favourite beaches and not too far away from the lively hustle of Costa Smeralda with its restaurants, shops and nightlife.

We planned the house itself as a traditional sardinian Stazzu, whilst at the same time, being very open and flooded with light. Regarding the interior, we went for natural materials, modern classics and a lot of love for details.

Just opposite the small marina of Cannigione we found what we were looking for.
Here, only a 15 minute drive away from Porto Cervo, we found our sardinian home.

The house has a ground area of 195 qm including two roofed terraces, a 4 x 10 meter pool as well as a pool house and a carport. It is situated on a 10.000 square meter piece of land surrounded by olive and fruit trees.

Equipment | Furnishing

There are three bedrooms in total, each with a double bed and en-suite bathrooms and one with a kids room next to it with two single beds. Furthermore a double bed for guests on top of the gallery in the main living room, a guest’s bathroom and a large living and dining area with an open kitchen. Especially the living and dining area with its 4,20 m high ceilings has a spacious room design which is pretty unusual for an Sardinian cottage.

The large panoramic windows provide stunning views on the mountains of San Pantaleo and on a “Nuraghe” – a prehistoric ruin of a tower – which can be found right behind our land in the neighboring nature reserve. Additionally, our guests have an outdoor kitchen with a large barbecue next to the pool house at their disposal.

The Bedrooms

Design classics and state-of-the-art entertainment technology

Music lovers and film fans are well looked after: SONY KD43 TV, Sonos Sound system, Apple-TV, remote controll via iPad and free Wi-Fi…

The Kitchen

The kitchen is equipped with a Bora induction cooktop, a Miele dishwasher, a side by side refrigerator by Smeg and a double oven by Ilve, making it suitable even for very ambitious cooks. A washing machine and a tumbler can be found in the utility room.

In- & Outdoor Climate

During summer, there’s usually a light breeze around the site, so even on hot days the climate is rather pleasant. On colder days, the underfloor heating warms up the place nicely. Needless to say, both bedrooms have air-conditioning for those warm summer nights.

Outside Area

The Poolhouse

The estate has sun all day long and is best enjoyed on the daybeds by the pool. The pool is 4 x 10 meters in size, 1.4 meters deep and can be heated.

Between a „Nuraghe“ and an „Obelisk“, the building is situated in a special „Sardinia force field“. You can find plenty of positive energy spots here.

The surrounding landscape is defined by granite and the „macchia“ – the typical vegetation of the mediterranean. The air smells of a variety of flowers and plants. Due to the agricultural origin of the estate, we have planted olives, lemons, oranges and pomegranates.

During daytime, you´ll have an impressive panoramic view onto the mountains of San Pantaleo all the way to Cannigione. In the evening, when the sun is sinking into the sea at Baja Sardinia the view is breath-taking.

It’s an ideal place to regenerate and to get back in balance with body and soul.

The Back Country

Sardinia is a large island, offering a variety of beautiful landscapes. The island is very green and mountainous. We highly recommend a drive through the northern back country – if you fancy you can do it with our Defender 90.

The Beaches

Our „home beach“ is situated in Cala dei Ginepri. Not even 5 Minutes from our House, you will find several small bays and nice Beach-Bar with its great views over the Gulf of Cannigione.

Some of Sardinias most famous beaches, such as Capriccioli, Pevero, Del Principe, Liscia, Ruja and Rena Bianca, are less than a 15-minute drive away. There is a map with descriptions of all the beaches and bays at the house.

Everyday necessities can be purchased in the supermarkets of Baia Sardinia (8 minutes), Abbiadori (10 minutes) or Arzachena (10 minutes). The most beautiful weekly market you can find every Thursday in San Pantaleo (8 minutes). The early bird gets a parking within walking distance.

Moreover, there’s a countless number of designer boutiques, especially in Porto Cervo.

Food & Beverages

Like any region of Italy, Sardinia has its own unique specialities. The local markets are full of deliciousness from the region.
In the evening, it is time to look into the Sardinian pots. We recommend to visit the Agriturismo „La Kustera“ – – a 20 minute drive from Arzachena or, not far from our place, about 4 minutes „La Colti“ – – close to Caniggione.

Only 7 minutes from our house, the very tasty furnished winery Surrau is located – It’s certainly worth a visit, the Sardinian cheese, sausage and ham specialities are delicious.

One of our favourite restaurants is located nearby – just 500m away from our house. „L’Oasi“ is popular amongst locals and tourists, large, loud and offers authentic Italian cuisine for very good prices.
We also recommend the restaurants in San Pantaleo, and for a lunch with a view „Cavallino Bianco“ would be the best choice. It is located slightly hidden behind a fuel station on the coastal road (SP 94) between Cala di Volpe and Portisco.
In general, whichever restaurant you visit in the area, on the side of the road or with a sea view, you will most definitely be offered great food.

Sardinian Nights

If you don’t feel like relaxing every night, there are plenty of party locations around.
We highly recommend watching the spectacular sunset at Phi Beach (Baia Sardegnia).

Porto Cervo is the non-plus-ultra of tourist centres. Here, the rich and famous find a mooring for their yachts and a lively party scene, amongst others at the world-famous Club and Restaurant Billionaire owned by Flavio Briatore.

Important: During the main season you have to make reservations or preorder tickets for most of the locations.

Our personal preferred place is the mountain village of San Pantaleo. In the evenings children are playing on the Piazza, there are great places to eat, small shops like Yashu e Prem and old alleys to stroll through. Having a drink in one of the Cafes by the market place makes for a good end to the day.

Or, simply enjoy a beautiful summer’s night at home… buona notte!
